Detroit Ignition 15-7 Chicago Storm

PLYMOUTH, MI--With only 14 players dressed, the Storm fell to the Detroit Ignition, 15-7. The Storm were missing Stephen Armstrong (ankle), Gabriel Cigliano (MCL sprain), Mark Ughy (red card), and Randy Soderman (did not travel).
Jamar Beasley needed just 15 seconds to open the scoring for the Ignition. Hewerton needed just 62 seconds of the second quarter to make it 4-0. Droo Callahan notched an unassisted goal 2:42 into the second half.
The Storm got on the board seven seconds later through Benjamin Chavolla, but Ryan Mack would answer for the Ignition. Then, the Ignition got yet another early quarter goal, this time through Hewerton with a three-point goal just 27 seconds into the fourth quarter.
John Ball pulled a goal back for the Storm, but then Mack got his second of the match followed by Worteh Sampson three minutes later to make it 15-4. Andy Rosenband got a three-point goal with under seven minutes left, but there would be no comeback this time.
The Storm travel to Newark to take on the New Jersey Ironmen on Saturday, March 15. Kickoff is at 7pm Chicago time. The Storm’s magic number to clinch a playoff spot remains at two.
